So What if Christmas is Still 2 Months Away?!:!

I am always early. Always. Halloween still two weeks away? We've been ready for at least 3 weeks now. Tommy takes after me. For example, he was born 2 weeks early. And more recently, he gave Tom and I an early Christmas present......he pulled our laptop off of the TV stand and killed it. I digress.

This morning Tommy had school which means the only 3 hours a week I have to get things done sans toddler. I could clean my house. I could spend quiet playtime with Alyssa. I could prepare a fabulous dinner. But what has been occupying my mind has been Christmas cards and outfits. It is the middle of October and Alyssa already has 2 Christmas dresses with matching cardigans, a Christmas dress coat, headband, tights, tutu..... Tommy has a nice sweater and button down shirt. I am still on the hunt for black pants for Tommy, dress shoes for Tommy, a Santa hat for Tommy, and Christmas PJ's for both kids. I know I am insane, but after the newborn photographer screwover of summer 2011 (long story short, received about 40 pictures of Alyssa....a couple of which I LOVE.....but most were lots of the same and it was all so rushed for the price and we were supposed to have a whole other shoot including Tommy and the photog kept cancelling or not being available because dumbass me paid in full in good faith. Plus she left one of her lens here so I thought HAH I've got her....she'll be back for that.....ummm not so much. Anyone need a Nikon lens?!?!?!?!) I refuse to pay a 'professional' to take pictures of my kids. We bought an expensive camera and will instead do it ourselves.......and by ourselves I mean me.....and probably my sister. So now the race is on. 2 months will fly by and of course I don't have 2 months to get the picture done since they will have to be submitted to Shutterfly or whereever I order them from in enough time to have them sent back to me, stuffed, addressed, and mailed to all our beloved friends and family in time for Christmas (or early December so they can savor and enjoy the card I've obsessed over for weeks that they most likely take a glance at and toss throughout the New Year)!
